Origins

Today Spokanites have never known a time without the Looff Carrousel. 

Its origins started before Looff gave it to his daughter, Emma Looff Vogel.

This gift secured the fate of our carrousel and the Vogel family to Spokane.

The carrousel became an heirloom for all Spokane residents after Nat Park's closure.

1909

Under Vogel management the Looff Carrousel begins operations at Nat Park

1949

Over a decade of acquisitions, the Vogels purchase all of Nat Park

1967

Nat Park closes, Spokane City purchases carrousel

1975

After ten years in storage, carrousel begins operating at Riverfront Park

2018

Spokane City's completes an investment in rehousing and restoring carrousel
